Araken Patusca (born July 17, 1905 – died January 24, 1990) was a famous Brazilian football player. He was known as a striker, which means he played in an attacking position to score goals. Araken was born in Santos, Brazil.
He played football from 1923 to 1937. During his career, he played for several important clubs. These included Santos FC, Club Athletico Paulistano, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, and São Paulo. Araken was a very important player for Santos FC. He is considered a club legend.

Playing for Santos FC
Araken spent many years playing for Santos FC. He was a key player for them in the 1920s and 1930s. He helped Santos become one of the top teams in Brazil.
- Early Success: Santos FC finished second in the Campeonato Paulista (a major state championship) three times in a row with Araken: in 1927, 1928, and 1929.
- Winning Titles: He finally won the Campeonato Paulista title with Santos in 1935. Before that, he had won it in 1931 with São Paulo.
- Goal-Scoring Machine: In 1928, Araken was the top goalscorer in the Campeonato Paulista. He scored 31 goals that season!
- Historic Goal: In 1929, Araken scored the 1000th goal in the history of Santos FC. This happened in a match against Atlas Flamengo.
- Club Legend: Overall, he scored an amazing 182 goals in 193 matches for Santos. This made him a true idol for the club's fans.

The First World Cup
Araken Patusca had the honor of playing for the Brazil national team. He was part of the very first FIFA World Cup tournament in 1930. This historic event took place in Uruguay.
- One Match Played: Araken played one match in the World Cup. It was against the Yugoslavia national team.
- Representing São Paulo: He was the only player from the state of São Paulo to play for Brazil in that first World Cup.
- A Special Journey: At the time, the CBD (Brazil's football governing body) mostly wanted players from Rio de Janeiro. To make sure he could join the team and travel, Araken signed with Flamengo. Even though he signed, he never actually played a game for Flamengo. He just wanted to be part of the national team's journey to the World Cup.
Araken Patusca passed away at the age of 84. He is remembered as a pioneering and talented Brazilian footballer.
