The Arakkal Museum is a special place in Kerala, India. It is dedicated to the Arakkal family. This family was the only Muslim royal family in Kerala's history.
The museum is actually part of the Arakkalkettu, which means the Arakkal Royal Palace. The part of the palace where the rulers used to meet important people, called the durbar hall, was turned into a museum. The Government of Kerala opened it in July 2005. They spent about 9 million rupees to make it ready.
Even though the government helped renovate it, the Arakkalkettu still belongs to the Arakkal Royal Trust. It is not managed by the country's archaeology department. The government wanted to protect the history of the Arakkal Family. This family played a very important role in the history of Northern Kerala. Visitors pay a small fee to enter the museum. This fee helps the Arakkal Royal Trust take care of the museum.
