The town of Arbor Vitae covers a total area of about 71.3 square miles (184.6 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, which is about 62.6 square miles (162.1 square kilometers). The rest, about 8.7 square miles (22.5 square kilometers), is water. This means that about 12% of the town's area is covered by water.

Airports Serving the Town
Arbor Vitae has its own airport called Lakeland Airport / Noble F. Lee Memorial Field (KARV). It is located just one mile west of the town.
