Archie Pate (born July 15, 1886 – died April 16, 1936) was an American baseball player. He was a pitcher and an outfielder. He played in the Negro leagues. These leagues were for African American players. They played at a time when major league baseball was segregated.

In 1910, Archie moved to a new team. He joined the Minneapolis Keystones. He played with them for two seasons. During this time, he played alongside Hurley McNair. McNair later became a well-known pitcher for the Kansas City Monarchs.

Time in Chicago

After his time in Minneapolis, Archie Pate moved to Chicago. He continued his baseball career there. He played for two different teams in the city. These teams were the Leland Giants and the Chicago Giants.

Later Life

Archie Pate passed away in Chicago, Illinois. He was 49 years old. He is buried at Restvale Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.
