Ardakan (Persian: اردكان) is a city located in Iran. It is found in the Fars province, within Sepidan County. Ardakan is an important city because it serves as the main city, or capital, for both Sepidan County and its Central District.

Ardakan is a city with an interesting name! Its name comes from two old words. Arta means "brave man," and kan or gan means "place." So, Ardakan means "place of brave men."
This city is located in a helpful spot. It is about halfway between two other cities, Yasuj and Shiraz. This makes it a good stopping point for travelers.
