About the Belangerella Moth
This moth is a tiny creature, often found flying around. It's known for its unique wing patterns.
Where It Lives
The Argyresthia belangerella moth lives in Canada. It makes its home in different parts of this large country. Sometimes, scientists think it might just be a different type, or "variety," of another moth called Argyresthia conjugella.
What It Looks Like
The Argyresthia belangerella moth has a wingspan of about 13 millimeters (which is about half an inch). This is how wide its wings are when they are spread out.
- The front part of its top wings (called the forewings) is dark brown. Along the edge, there are even darker spots. These spots sometimes have white lines through them.
- The bottom part of the forewings is a creamy white color. It has a dark brown, somewhat rounded spot in the middle of the bottom edge. There's also a smaller dark spot closer to the tip of the wing.
- The back wings (called hindwings) are a dark grayish-brown color.
