Ariel Lin Yi-chen (born on October 29, 1982) is a famous actress and singer from Taiwan. She became well-known for playing Yuan Xiangqin in the TV show It Started with a Kiss (2005). She also starred in the Chinese fantasy drama The Little Fairy (2006). Ariel Lin won the Best Actress award at the Golden Bell Awards twice. She won for her roles in They Kiss Again (2007) and In Time with You (2011).

Starting Her Career in TV and Film
Ariel Lin was first noticed in a beauty contest in Taiwan. She started her acting career in 2002 with the TV drama True Love 18. In 2004, she acted in her first movie, Love Me, If You Can. This role earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Golden Horse Awards.
She became more popular after starring in the TV series My Secret Garden II and Love Contract. She also sang the theme song for Love Contract, called "Alone in the Northern Hemisphere". This song was very popular and stayed at the top of music charts for 12 weeks.
Becoming a Star with Hit Dramas
Ariel Lin became a big star when she played Yuan Xiangqin in the popular Taiwanese drama It Started with a Kiss (2005). This show was a huge success in Taiwan and across Asia.
In 2006, she starred in her first Chinese drama, The Little Fairy, where she played the Seventh Fairy Maiden. This show was very popular and helped her become known in China. The same year, she also starred in Tokyo Juliet.
Ariel Lin worked again with Joe Cheng in They Kiss Again (2007), which was the sequel to It Started with a Kiss. This drama was one of the highest-rated idol dramas. Her acting in They Kiss Again won her the Best Actress award at the 43rd Golden Bell Awards. This made her the first actress to win this award for an idol drama.

In 2008, Ariel Lin starred in the TV show The Legend of the Condor Heroes. She played Huang Rong, a famous character. She also worked with Joe Cheng for the third time in the Taiwanese drama Love or Bread.
In 2009, Ariel Lin signed a music contract and released her first album, Blissful Encounter. It sold many copies very quickly. She also performed in her first theater play, Man and Woman, War and Peace.
In 2011, Ariel Lin starred in the romance drama In Time with You. This show was the highest-rated Taiwanese idol drama of that year and was very popular across Asia. Ariel Lin's Personal Life
Ariel Lin grew up in Yilan, Taiwan, in a family that didn't have a lot of money. Her parents separated when she was very young and divorced when she was in high school. Ariel Lin helped them become friends again in 2014. She was raised by her mother and faced poverty for many years.
She started helping her family financially in her second year of high school after her mother became ill. When she was 18, she entered a beauty competition to win money to buy her brother a new computer. She won first place! She also got into National Chengchi University, a top university in Taiwan, and studied Korean literature while acting part-time.
Ariel Lin has severe nearsightedness and wears contact lenses. In 2008, doctors found a small cyst on her pituitary gland, and she had surgery in 2009.
In 2013, she took a break from acting to study in the United Kingdom. She earned a Master's degree in Acting for Screen from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London in 2014.
On December 24, 2014, Ariel Lin married a businessman named Charles Lin. They were introduced by friends. On September 29, 2021, she announced she was expecting a baby. She gave birth to a daughter on October 18, 2021. She also wrote a book during her pregnancy, which became a bestseller in January 2022. On June 16, 2025, she announced the birth of her second child, a son.
