Arisa Trew (born 12 May 2010) is an amazing Australian skateboarder. She made history by winning a gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She was only 14 years old, making her Australia's youngest ever Olympic champion! Arisa is also the first female skateboarder to land two super difficult tricks in competition: the 720 and the 900.

Early Life and Skateboarding Start
Arisa Trew was born in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, on May 12, 2010. Her mother, Aiko, is from Japan, and her father, Simon, is from Wales. When Arisa was two years old, her family moved to the Gold Coast. This is where she grew up and started skateboarding at age seven. Arisa is good friends with another Australian Olympic skateboarder, Ruby Trew. They often joke that they are cousins!
Skateboarding Career Highlights
Arisa's skateboarding career took off quickly. In May 2023, she competed in the X Games in Japan. She finished in 4th place in the women's park event.
Landing the 720 Trick
On June 23, 2023, Arisa achieved something incredible. At an event called Tony Hawk's Vert Alert in Salt Lake City, she became the first female skateboarder to successfully land a 720 trick in a competition. A 720 trick means spinning two full times (720 degrees) in the air! This trick was made famous by the legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk back in 1985.
X Games Success
Arisa continued her winning streak at the X Games.
- In July 2023, she won two gold medals at the X Games in California. She won both the women's vert and park events.
- She repeated this amazing achievement in June 2024. She won both the vert and park gold medals again at the X Games in Ventura, California.
- In 2024, she also won gold at the X Games in Chiba, Japan.
- In 2025, she won two more gold medals at the X Games in Osaka, Japan. She also earned a silver medal at the X Games in Salt Lake City.
More Achievements
In March 2024, Arisa placed 4th at the World Skateboarding Tour in Dubai. In April 2024, she received a special honor: the Laureus World Sports Award for Action Sportsperson of the Year. This award recognizes top athletes in action sports.
Landing the 900 Trick
On May 29, 2024, Arisa made history again. She became the first female skateboarder to land a 900 trick! This trick involves spinning two and a half times (900 degrees) in the air while on a half-pipe.
Arisa also performed very well in the 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series. She finished first in both park qualifying events.
2024 Summer Olympics Gold
On August 6, 2024, Arisa Trew won the gold medal in the women's park event at the Paris Olympic Games. This made her the youngest Australian ever to win an Olympic gold medal, at just 14 years old! Before the Olympics, Arisa made a fun deal with her parents. She told them that if she won a gold medal, they would get her a pet duck.

Arisa Trew has received several important awards for her incredible achievements:
- 2024 – AIS Sport Performance Awards – Emerging Athlete of the Year
- 2025 – Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) – for her amazing service to sport as a gold medallist at the Paris Olympic Games 2024. This is a special award given to people who have done great things for Australia.
