Arlene Martel (born Arline Greta Sax; April 14, 1936 – August 12, 2014) was an American actress. She was known for playing many different types of characters. People in Hollywood called her "the Chameleon." This was because she was very good at changing her look and voice to fit many different roles. She could play characters from various backgrounds and places.

Early Life and Start in Acting
Arlene Martel was born as Arline Sax in The Bronx, New York. She went to the Performing Arts High School in New York. This school helped her learn how to act. In her early TV career, she was sometimes called "Arline Sax."
Becoming a Star
Arlene Martel appeared in many popular TV shows. Two of her first roles were in The Twilight Zone. In one episode, "Twenty Two", she played a nurse who said a spooky line: "Room for one more, Honey!"
She also appeared in an episode of The Rebel in 1960. In this show, she acted with Leonard Nimoy. They would later work together again in a very famous episode of Star Trek.

Arlene Martel battled breast cancer for five years. She died on August 12, 2014, at the age of 78. She passed away from complications of a heart attack in Santa Monica, California.
