Arlington is a small place in Upshur County, West Virginia, United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a settlement that isn't officially part of a city or town. It's located along the Little Kanawha River.
The name Arlington comes from Alfious Arlington Fidler. He was an early postmaster, which means he was in charge of the local post office. He gave the community his middle name.
History of Arlington
One important historical spot in Arlington is Fidler's Mill. This old mill was built in the 1800s. It is so important that it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This list includes places in the United States that are worth protecting because of their history.
Arlington is found south of another community called Rock Cave.
