Arlington is a small, unincorporated community located in Posey Township, which is in the northwestern part of Rush County, Indiana, United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live together, but it doesn't have its own official local government like a city or town. Arlington is situated just south of the B&O Railroad and lies along U.S. Route 52. It is about 8 miles west of the town of Rushville.

History

Arlington has an interesting past! This community was first established in 1832. When it was originally created, it was given a different name: Burlington. Later on, its name was changed to Arlington. This new name might have been inspired by Arlington, Virginia. The community has had its own post office, where people send and receive mail, since 1875.
