Araceli "Arly" Jover is an actress from Spain. She is famous for playing the villainous vampire Mercury in the 1998 superhero movie Blade.

Life and Career of Arly Jover
Araceli Jover was born in Melilla, Spain. When she was five years old, her family moved to Mallorca. This move happened because her father was a soldier and had to work there. Arly is the youngest of seven children. She has four sisters and three brothers.
Early Life and Dance Training
When Arly was young, she dreamed of becoming a dancer. She started dancing at the age of eight. At 14, she left school to focus on her dance studies. When she was 15, she won a special scholarship. This scholarship allowed her to move to New York City. There, she studied at the School of American Ballet.
Becoming an Actress
After living in the United States for about two and a half years, Arly changed her career path. Around 1995 or 1996, she began acting. Her first acting job was in a TV show called Women: Stories of Passion. She also appeared in two international movies, Tango and The Ballad of Johnny-Jane.
Later, she did more TV work. Her first American movie role was in Blade in 1998. In this film, she played Mercury, a vampire character.
Moving to France and New Roles
After living in the United States for 18 years, Arly moved to France. Soon after arriving, she got a big role in the movie Empire of the Wolves. She starred alongside the famous actor Jean Reno in this film.
Arly Jover's Personal Life
Arly Jover now lives in Paris, France, with her daughter. Her family still lives in Mallorca, Spain. Arly visits them every summer.
