About Armenia's Air Defense
The Armenian Air Defense is part of the larger Armed Forces of Armenia. It was created during a time when Armenia was making big changes to its military. This helped make their defense stronger and more modern.
What They Use
The Armenian Air Defense uses many different types of weapons to do its job. They have special groups called a missile brigade and two regiments. These groups are equipped with about 100 missile launchers. These launchers can fire different kinds of missiles.
Types of Missiles
Some of the missiles they use include:
- M79 Osa
- Krug
- S-75
- S-125
- S-300
They also have 24 Scud ballistic missiles. These are powerful missiles that can travel very far. They are launched from eight special vehicles.
