Army Burn Hall College facts for kids
Army Burn Hall College (ABHC) is a well-known school and college located in Abbottabad, Pakistan. It used to be called Burn Hall School.
The school started in 1948. This was just one year after Pakistan became an independent country, no longer ruled by the British Empire. Some religious teachers, called missionary fathers, moved from Srinagar, Kashmir. They brought a few students with them and started a new school in Abbottabad.
From 1948 to 1977, these missionary fathers managed the school. The Board of Education of the Rawalpindi Diocese of the Church of Pakistan also helped oversee it.
However, in 1977, the Pakistan Army took over the school. They made some changes to how the school was run and what it taught. They wanted the school to fit their own goals.
Since 1990-1991, Army Burn Hall College has changed quite a bit. It is no longer a traditional public school like those in England. Instead, it has become a military-style college. It now has separate branches for boys and girls.
