History of Arnold City

The Hillman Coal and Coke Company built houses in Arnold City. This created a "Coal Patch Town." These towns were built by mining companies to house their workers.
One important mine was the Naomi Mine in Fayette City, Pennsylvania. Arnold City provided housing for workers from this mine.
