The Arribes del Duero Natural Park is a special protected area in western Spain. It covers a huge space of 106,105 hectares in the region of Castile and León. Here, the Duero River forms the border between Spain and Portugal. The Portuguese side of the river is also protected. It is called the Douro International Natural Park.
This park is famous for its amazing nature and many watercourses (rivers and streams). Over time, these rivers have carved out deep valleys and very steep cliffs. This unique landscape is known as Arribes. This is where the park gets its name. It's a place where you can see incredible views and lots of different plants and animals.
Fauna
The Arribes del Duero Natural Park is a very important place for birds. It is recognized by the European Union as a Special Protection Area. This means it helps protect many bird species. One important bird that lives here is the black stork. Many other animals also live here, making it a rich home for wildlife.
