The Art Hauser Centre is a cool place in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. It's a multi-purpose arena, which means it hosts many different events. This building opened in 1971. It is the home rink for the Prince Albert Raiders Ice hockey team. They play in the Western Hockey League.

What is the Art Hauser Centre?

This arena is a big building designed for different activities. It's mainly known for hockey games. The Prince Albert Raiders have played here since it first opened. For hockey games, 2,580 people can sit down. There's also room for 786 more people to stand and watch.

A New Name for a Great Place

The Art Hauser Centre wasn't always called that. It used to be known as the Prince Albert Communiplex. In 2004-2005, a special effort began. It was called the "Bring Back The Magic" campaign. This campaign wanted to raise money for big improvements to the building. In less than a month, they collected over $3 million!

Who is Art Hauser?

The arena was renamed to honor a local businessperson named Art Hauser. He gave $1 million to the renovation campaign. Because of his generous gift, the building got its new name. The renovations were finished in the spring of 2006.

Cool New Upgrades and Features

Many exciting changes were made to the arena. These upgrades made the Art Hauser Centre even better for everyone.

Inside the Arena

  • New snack bars were added on both levels. You can find them at the southeast corner.
  • Brand new washrooms were also built on both levels in the same area.
  • All the seats in the arena were replaced with new ones.
  • The dressing rooms for the teams were updated.
  • A new scoreboard was installed in the middle of the ice. It has video screens on all four sides!
  • The Ches Leach Lounge, a special area, was made bigger.
  • A new front entrance lobby was created. It's named after Johnny Bower, a famous hockey goalie from Prince Albert. This lobby has more snack bars and a team store.
  • New offices were built for the WHL Raiders team and the City of Prince Albert staff.
