Early Life and College Years
Art Long went to East High School in Rochester, New York. During his high school days, he was skilled enough to play as a small forward, showing he could handle the ball well.
After high school, Art continued his basketball career in college. He attended several community colleges, including Dodge City Community College in Kansas and Southeastern Community College in Iowa. He then played for the University of Cincinnati from 1994 to 1996.
Playing Professional Basketball
Even though Art Long was not chosen in the NBA draft in 1996, he still made it to the professional leagues. He signed with NBA teams like the Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings as a free agent in 1999.
NBA Career
Art Long played in 98 games in the NBA. His best season was in 2001-02 when he played 63 games for the Seattle SuperSonics, starting in 27 of them. He also played for the Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors in the 2002-03 season. Before the 2004-05 season, he played a few preseason games for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
