Arthur Napier Burghardt (born August 29, 1947) is an American actor who is now retired. He is most famous for his deep, powerful voice. He voiced many popular cartoon characters and video game characters that you might know!
You might recognize his voice as Devastator from The Transformers. He also voiced Destro, Stalker, and Iceberg in G. I. Joe. For Disney fans, he was the first Black actor to voice Pete in several Disney video games.
Arthur Burghardt's Acting Journey
Arthur Burghardt started his acting career in 1973. His first movie role was in Network in 1976. He also appeared in the TV show One Life to Live as Jack Scott.
Voice Acting Roles
Arthur Burghardt is especially known for his amazing voice work. His deep voice made many cartoon villains and heroes come alive.
- In the 1980s, he voiced Destro in the G.I. Joe cartoon series. He also played Devastator in The Transformers.
- He was the voice of Turbo in Challenge of the Gobots.
- In video games, he voiced Venom in Ultimate Spider-Man.
- He also lent his voice to important characters in the Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos game, like Mannoroth and Grom Hellscream. He returned to voice Mannoroth in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
