Early Life of Arthur Keith-Falconer
Arthur George Keith-Falconer was born on January 5, 1879. His birthplace was Inverurie in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
He was the second son and youngest child of Algernon Keith-Falconer, 9th Earl of Kintore. His mother was Lady Sydney Charlotte Montagu. His father was an important politician. He served as Governor of South Australia in the 1890s.
Arthur's older brother, Ian, passed away at age twenty. This happened before their father died.
Military Career
Lord Kintore was a soldier who served his country. He fought in the Boer War from 1900 to 1902. He was part of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.
Later, during World War I, he joined the Scots Guard. He achieved the rank of captain.
Personal Life
On November 23, 1937, Lord Kintore married Helena Montagu. Helena was an American heiress. She was the daughter of Eugene Zimmerman, a railroad president.
Helena had been married before. She had four children from her first marriage.
Lord Kintore passed away in London on May 26, 1966. He was buried in Inverurie, Scotland. After his death, some of his titles ended. His older sister, Lady Ethel Sydney Keith-Falconer, became the next Countess of Kintore.
