Early Life and Education

Aryana Sayeed was born in 1985 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Her father was Pashtun and her mother spoke Persian. When she was 8 years old, she left Afghanistan with her parents. They lived in Islamabad, Pakistan, for a short time. After that, they moved to Switzerland and then settled in London, England. By the age of 12, she was accepted into a music school. There, she performed with a choir.

Aryana Sayeed released her first song, "Mashallah," in 2009. Her career really took off after her song "Afghan Pesarak" came out in 2010. Aryana Sayeed became very popular among Afghan families living outside Afghanistan. Many people asked her to perform at concerts around the world.

Even with all her success, Aryana decided to go back to Afghanistan. She performed concerts in her home country. She became even more famous there with her version of an old Afghan song called "Gule Seb." During her first days in Afghanistan, she filmed her next song, "Dilam Tang Ast." This song was so successful that it won an award for the best song filmed inside Afghanistan. This also led to a new job as a TV host for a top entertainment channel in Afghanistan.

Her next song, "Hairanam," also did well. Aryana then released an upbeat song to encourage sports in her country. Several singers joined her to create the song, "Afghanistan Afghanistan."

Important Songs and Awards

Sayeed's song "Banoo e Atash Nasheen" is about the struggles women in Afghanistan have faced during years of war. This song received a lot of praise. A large orchestra helped create the music for the song, and it was filmed in Afghanistan. Soon after the song was released, the BBC interviewed Aryana. She explained the meaning behind her powerful song. Her next big hit was "Anaram Anaram," which quickly became a top song in Afghanistan.

Aryana Sayeed became engaged to her manager, Hasib Sayed, in 2018.

In August 2021, after the fall of Kabul to the Taliban, she was safely moved from Kabul to Doha, Qatar. This was done on an American military flight. As of August 25, 2021, she was reported to be living in Los Angeles, California, in the United States.

Her niece, Nadia Nadim, is a famous football player. Nadia was only 11 when she fled to Denmark with her family as a refugee. She now plays for the Denmark national football team.
