Asbury Lanes is a cool and historic spot in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It's a unique place that combines a vintage bowling alley with a stage for live music and other fun events. You can bowl a few frames, then watch a band play right where the lanes usually are! It's one of several famous music places in Asbury Park, like The Stone Pony, the Wonderbar, the Saint, and the Fastlane.
A Fun Place for Music
Since it reopened in 2003, Asbury Lanes has become a popular spot for many bands to play. It's especially known for punk rock music, but different types of bands perform there too. When bands play, the bowling lanes turn into a big stage and dance floor. It's a really unique setup!
In October 2015, Asbury Lanes closed for some big updates. A company called iStar bought the venue. They wanted to fix it up and keep it as a bowling alley that also hosts ticketed events. The goal was to reopen it in 2017, keeping its cool, classic feel.
