Ascochinga is a small town in Argentina. It is located in the Colón Department. This department is part of the Córdoba Province.
The town sits in a beautiful area called the Sierras Chicas. It is right by the Ascochinga river. Ascochinga is about 6 kilometers (4 miles) north of La Granja. It is also 19 kilometers (12 miles) from Jesús María. The provincial capital, Córdoba, is about 59 kilometers (37 miles) away.

Getting Around
You can reach Ascochinga by two paved roads. These are Provincial Route E53 and Provincial Route E66. There is also a mountain road that is not paved. This road is 38 kilometers (24 miles) long. It goes through the hills and is called Camino del Pungo. This path leads to La Cumbre.
A Popular Getaway
Since the 1800s, Ascochinga has been a popular place for vacations. Wealthy families from Córdoba often visited. They owned large ranches in the area. For example, Governor Cárcano had a ranch here.
Another important family, Dulce L. de Martínez de Hoz, owned a hotel and a golf course. Today, this place is a vacation spot for the Argentine Air Force. The "La Paz" ranch was also in Ascochinga. It belonged to Julio Argentino Roca, who was president twice.
Ascochinga Airport and Rally
Because of its connection to the Air Force, Ascochinga has a small airport. It is called Ascochinga Airport ((ICAO: SACN)). The airport is about 3 kilometers (2 miles) from the town.
The area around Ascochinga is also famous for car racing. It has been used as a special stage for the exciting Rally Argentina events.
