Ascuta is a group of spiders, also known as a genus. These spiders are special because they are only found in New Zealand. They belong to a spider family called Orsolobidae. A scientist named Raymond Robert Forster first described them in 1956.

As of 2019, there are fourteen known types, or species, of Ascuta spiders. All of these spiders live only in New Zealand.
