Its Story
Ashton has a long history. A post office was opened here in 1851. It helped people send and receive mail for over 100 years! The post office finally closed its doors in 1954. The community of Ashton was named after one of the very first people who settled there. In 1925, about 210 people lived in Ashton.
Where You Can Find It
Ashton is located in the northeastern part of Missouri. It sits right on US Route 136, which is a main road. If you travel about five miles west, you'll reach the town of Kahoka. If you go about four miles east, you'll find the town of Luray. Near Ashton, to the northwest, is the Fox Valley Lake Conservation Area. This is a special place where nature is protected, and people can enjoy the outdoors.
