Ashton Durrand Sanders (born October 24, 1995) is an American actor. He is best known for playing the teenage character Chiron in the movie Moonlight (2016). This film won an Academy Award, which is a very important movie award. Ashton has also acted in other films like The Equalizer 2 (2017) and Judas and the Black Messiah (2020). He played Bigger Thomas in Native Son (2019) and Bobby Brown in Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody (2022).

Ashton Sanders was born in Carson, California. This city is located in the United States. He went to Grand Arts High School in Los Angeles. He finished high school there in 2014. After high school, he studied acting at The Theatre School at DePaul University. He left college in 2016 to focus on his acting career.

Ashton Sanders started his acting journey in movies with The Retrieval. This film was directed by Chris Eska. It first showed at the South by Southwest festival on March 11, 2013. The movie was later released in some theaters on April 2, 2014.
