Ashton Durrand Sanders (born October 24, 1995) is an American actor. He is well-known for playing the teenage version of Chiron in the movie Moonlight (2016). This film won an Academy Award for Best Picture. Ashton has also appeared in other movies like The Equalizer 2 (2018) and Judas and the Black Messiah (2020). He played Bigger Thomas in Native Son (2019) and Bobby Brown in Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody (2022).

Ashton Sanders was born in Carson, California. He went to Grand Arts High School in Los Angeles. He graduated from high school in 2014.
After high school, he studied acting at The Theatre School at DePaul University. He left college in 2016 to focus on his acting career.
Ashton Sanders' Acting Career
Ashton Sanders started his movie career in a film called The Retrieval. This movie first showed at the South by Southwest festival in 2013. It was later released in theaters in 2014.
In 2015, Ashton had a small part in the movie Straight Outta Compton. The next year, he was in an episode of a web series called The Skinny.
Breakthrough with Moonlight
In 2016, Ashton Sanders starred in the drama film Moonlight. Barry Jenkins directed this movie. Moonlight was first shown at the Telluride Film Festival in September 2016.
The movie received many awards and great reviews. It won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture – Drama. Moonlight also won three Academy Awards.
