The Story of Asterix Conquers America
After the brave Gaulish village beats another Roman army, Julius Caesar feels very embarrassed. He decides the Gauls must be stopped from getting their magic potion. This potion gives them super strength!
Getafix is Kidnapped
Caesar orders a loyal Roman, Lucullus, to kidnap Druid Getafix. Lucullus's plan is to send Getafix off the "edge of the world." Meanwhile, in the Gaulish village, Unhygienix accidentally spills a cauldron of potion. Only a tiny bit is left! Getafix needs to find new ingredients to make more. His loyal dog, Dogmatix, goes with him.
Lucullus pretends to be a druid to trick Getafix. He captures Getafix and Dogmatix and takes them onto a Roman ship. Asterix and Obelix see Getafix being taken away. They quickly chase after the ship across the huge Atlantic Ocean.
Journey to a New Land
Asterix and Obelix lose the Roman ship in a big storm. But a friendly dolphin helps them find Dogmatix and then track down the ship. They arrive at the eastern coast of North America. The Romans throw Getafix ashore. Asterix, Obelix, and Dogmatix also land, but their boat is destroyed. Lucullus is happy and goes back to tell Caesar the good news.
Asterix and Obelix are surprised to find more land. They thought they were at the world's edge! They start exploring North America to find Getafix. They camp for the night and catch some turkeys for dinner.
Captured by Native Americans
The next morning, while Obelix is hunting turkeys, Asterix is captured. A tribe of Native Americans takes him to their village. Asterix finds himself tied to a pole next to Getafix. Getafix explains that the Romans catapulted him onto the hut of the tribe's Medicine Man. He also tells Asterix that the world is actually round, not flat!
Obelix realizes Asterix is missing and starts looking for him. He saves Minihooha, the chief's daughter, from a stampede of bison. Minihooha takes Obelix to her village. There, Obelix saves Asterix and Getafix by showing off his amazing strength to the chief.
Tricks and Escapes
That night, Asterix, Obelix, and Getafix join the tribe's evening celebrations. Getafix uses his magic to embarrass the Medicine Man. He even gives Minihooha some magic potion so she can get back at the Medicine Man for a trick he played.
Later that night, the Medicine Man pretends to offer peace. But he knocks out the Gauls and kidnaps Getafix. The next day, Obelix wakes up with no memory. So, Asterix has to find Getafix alone. He quickly rescues Getafix after the Medicine Man tries to force him to share the magic potion recipe.
Return to Gaul
Minihooha helps Obelix get his memory back. The group says goodbye to the tribe and heads back to Gaul. When they return home, they find that the Romans have taken over their village! The Gauls ran out of magic potion.
All the villagers except Cacofonix have been captured. Caesar and Lucullus plan to take them to Rome. Getafix quickly brews more magic potion. He gives Asterix and Obelix two small bottles for the villagers.
Disguised as Roman soldiers, Asterix and Obelix sneak into the Roman camp. They give their friends the potion. The Gauls then cause a lot of trouble in the camp! Lucullus is eaten by Caesar's pet panther. Caesar secretly escapes and goes home. The villagers celebrate with a big feast. Obelix tells everyone about his new adventure. He even teaches them the song the Native American tribe sang!
