Atienza is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the province of Guadalajara, Spain. It's a place with a long history and a famous castle. In 2023, about 434 people lived there.
Atienza is known for its impressive Castle of Atienza. This old castle stands high above the town.
Long ago, there were ancient settlements of the Celtiberians on a nearby hill called the Cerro del Padrastro. The Celtiberians were groups of people who lived in the Iberian Peninsula (modern-day Spain and Portugal) before the Romans arrived.

Atienza has been the birthplace of some notable people throughout history:
- Juan Bravo was born here. He was an important leader in the 16th century.
- Luisa de Medrano was also born in Atienza on August 9, 1484. She was a very smart woman and a professor at the University of Salamanca.
- Bonifacio Escudero worked as a doctor in Atienza. There is even a street named after him in the town.
