Atsuto Oishi (大石 篤人, Oishi Atsuto, born October 24, 1976) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He was born in Osaka, Japan. Oishi played as a midfielder during his career. After he stopped playing, he became a football coach and manager for different teams.
Atsuto Oishi's Playing Days
Atsuto Oishi was born in Osaka Prefecture on October 24, 1976. He played football in his youth and then went to Komazawa University. After finishing university, he joined a professional football club called Ventforet Kofu in 1999. This team had just moved up to the J2 League, which is one of Japan's professional football leagues.
Oishi played his first game on April 18, 1999. He came into the game as a substitute midfielder in the 75th minute against Montedio Yamagata. He played in a few more matches as an attacking midfielder until May of that year. However, he did not play in any games from June onwards. Atsuto Oishi decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 1999 season.
Atsuto Oishi's Coaching Career
After his playing career, Atsuto Oishi became a football coach. In 2014, he joined Fujieda MYFC, a team that had just moved up to the J3 League. He started as a coach under the manager Musashi Mizushima.
In 2015, Oishi became the manager of Fujieda MYFC. In his first year as manager, the team finished 10th out of 13 clubs in the 2015 season. The team's performance improved in the 2016 season and 2017 season, finishing in the middle of the league table.
However, the team's results were not as good in 2018. Atsuto Oishi resigned from his role in July 2018 when the team was in 14th place out of 17 clubs. In 2019, he signed with another team, Vanraure Hachinohe, which had also just moved up to the J3 League.
