Aulcie Perry (Hebrew: אולסי פרי) was born on July 3, 1950. He is a retired American-Israeli professional basketball player. He played as a center. Perry was known for his height, standing at 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 meters) tall. He weighed about 216 pounds (98 kg) during his playing career.
Aulcie Perry helped the team Maccabi Tel Aviv win two EuroLeague championships. He played for them for nine seasons.

Early Life and Basketball Beginnings
Perry was born in Newark, New Jersey, in the United States. He went to West Side High School in Newark. There, he played basketball for his school team.
After high school, Perry attended Bethune-Cookman University in Florida. He continued to play college basketball for the university's team, the Wildcats.
Professional Basketball Career
Playing in the United States
In 1974, the Boston Celtics picked Aulcie Perry in the 1974 NBA draft. He then joined the Virginia Squires in the American Basketball Association (ABA). However, he left the team during the 1974–75 season.
Perry then played for the Allentown Jets in the Eastern Basketball Association (EBA). In 1975, he helped the Jets win the EBA championship. He was also named the EBA Rookie of the Year. He was chosen for the All-EBA First Team that year.
The next season, the New York Knicks signed Perry, but he did not play in a game for them. After leaving the Knicks, he returned to the Allentown Jets. In 1976, he won another EBA championship with the Jets. He was also selected for the All-EBA Second Team.
Becoming a Star in Israel
In the summer of 1976, a scout for Maccabi Tel Aviv saw Perry playing basketball. This was at the famous Rucker courts in Harlem, New York. Maccabi Tel Aviv, a top team in the Israeli Basketball Super League, signed Perry.
He quickly became a leader on the team. That season, Maccabi Tel Aviv had an amazing year. In 1977, Perry helped lead the team to win its first FIBA European Champions Cup (EuroLeague) championship. They won this important European title again four years later.
Perry played for Maccabi Tel Aviv for nine seasons. During this time, the team won many titles. They won eight Israeli Cups and nine Israeli League championships.
Life in Israel
Aulcie Perry became a huge celebrity in Israel. People loved him and he was very famous. Even Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Menachem Begin congratulated him. They said he brought "honor to the people of Israel."
Perry started dating Israeli model Tami Ben-Ami. They were a popular couple in the news. Everywhere Perry went, fans wanted his autograph. In Israel, his name became a common way to describe a tall person. For example, someone might say a child had grown into a "real Aulcie Perry." A children's song by Arik Einstein even mentioned him.
After the 1977–78 season, Perry converted to Judaism. He chose the Hebrew name Elisha ben Avraham (אלישע בן אברהם). Soon after, Perry became an Israeli citizen.
After His Playing Days
After his professional basketball career, Aulcie Perry returned to Israel. He managed a Burger Ranch restaurant. He also helps young basketball players. Perry sponsors a basketball camp for children in Israel. He also coaches one of Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth teams, helping to train the next generation of players.
