Aviara is a beautiful neighborhood located in the southern part of Carlsbad. This community is found in San Diego County, California. It's about a 30-minute drive from downtown San Diego. Aviara was developed in 1989. Later, it officially became part of the city of Carlsbad. In 2005, about 5,050 people lived in Aviara.
This community is built on the hills of southern Carlsbad. It offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and Batiquitos Lagoon. Aviara is just north of Encinitas. It's also west of the La Costa neighborhood, which is also in Carlsbad. Most of Aviara is made up of homes. However, it also has the Park Hyatt Resort Aviara and the Aviara Golf and Country Club. Many homes here have views of the ocean, the lagoon, and the golf course. Aviara is known for its green landscapes. It also has many gated communities. Lots of jacaranda trees line the streets, making them very pretty.
In 2008, Aviara was special. It was the only community in San Diego County that was not affected by the housing crisis.
To keep the area nice, the community has strict rules. These rules cover things like how buildings look. They also include rules about basketball hoops, satellite dishes, and house paint colors. It's against the rules to leave trash cans on the street. Also, most areas do not allow apartment buildings. Only one community, Mirabella, allows multi-family housing.

Education in Aviara
Students in Aviara attend local schools. Younger children go to Aviara Oaks Elementary and Middle Schools. Older students attend Carlsbad High School. Sage Creek High School is another high school in the Carlsbad Unified School District. It opened in the 2013-2014 school year. There are also private schools nearby. These include Pacific Ridge School, Horizon Prep, St. Patrick's School, and the Army & Navy Academy.
Things to Do
One of the main attractions in Aviara is the Aviara Golf Club. This golf course has 18 holes. It's designed along the rolling hillsides near the coast. It's a great place for golf lovers.
