About Ayane Sakura
Ayane Sakura was born on January 29, 1994, in Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. When she was in junior high, she wanted to become an actress. She joined a theater school to learn acting. There, she studied many things like Japanese dancing, sword fighting, and voice training.
After performing on stage, she realized that acting wasn't quite right for her. That's when she decided to become a voice actress instead. This career lets her use her voice to bring characters to life.
Her Voice Acting Journey
Ayane Sakura started her voice acting career in 2010. Her first role was in a movie called Keroro Gunso the Super Movie: Creation! Ultimate Keroro, Wonder Space-Time Island. She also voiced Futaba Shirayuki in an episode of Ōkami-san & her Seven Companions.
In 2011, she got her first main role as Merry Nightmare in the anime series Dream Eater Merry. She also voiced young Yozora Mikazuki in Haganai. She even sang the ending theme song for Dream Eater Merry.
Over the years, Ayane Sakura has taken on many different roles. In 2013, she voiced Natsumi Koshigaya in Non Non Biyori and Suzuka Dairenji in Tokyo Ravens. In 2014, she became Cocoa Hoto in Is the Order a Rabbit?. She and her co-stars sang the opening theme for that show. She also voiced Tsubaki Sawabe in Your Lie in April.
In 2015, she played Nao Tomori in Charlotte and Iroha Isshiki in My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected. The next year, in 2016, she started voicing Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia, a role she continues to play.
In 2017, she won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 12th Seiyu Awards. She shared this award with another voice actress, Saori Ōnishi. In 2019, she voiced Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets.
In 2022, Ayane Sakura changed her talent agency. She left I'm Enterprise and joined Aoni Production. She continues to be a very busy and popular voice actress.
