Club Career
Starting Out
When he was 16, Yussuf signed his first professional contract. This was with Enyimba International. After that, he played for Union Bank. His strong play in these senior teams caught the eye of coaches for the national youth team.
Playing for Dynamo Kyiv
Many clubs were interested in Yussuf, including PSV Eindhoven and VfB Stuttgart. But in July 2003, he chose to sign with Dynamo Kyiv.
On August 5, 2003, he played his first game for the club's reserve team, FC Dynamo-2 Kyiv. This match was against FC Polissya Zhytomyr. Less than two months later, on September 21, Yussuf made his debut for the main senior team. This game was against Zirka Kirovohrad.
Unfortunately, a serious knee injury ended his 2003–04 season early. But he recovered and on September 16, 2004, he played his first game in the UEFA Champions League. This big match was for FC Dynamo Kyiv against Roma.
After the 2011–12 season, Yussuf found it harder to keep his spot on the main team. So, on January 31, 2013, he was loaned to Orduspor, a team in Turkey. After his time in Turkey, he still struggled to get back into Dynamo Kyiv's first team. He played for their reserve team, Dynamo-2 Kyiv. On February 18, 2014, he joined Metalist Kharkiv on a loan deal. This loan lasted until the end of that year.
