AzMarie was mainly raised by her mother. She has shared that her parents are very good friends. Growing up, AzMarie sometimes faced challenges because of her unique look. She attended Nicolet High School in Milwaukee.

When she was nine years old, AzMarie became interested in modeling during a trip to Los Angeles. However, she decided to take a break from it to enjoy her childhood. After finishing high school, she went to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for a while. Later, she moved to Los Angeles to seriously pursue her career dreams. AzMarie is mostly of African-American heritage, but also has some German and Indian background.
