BETC is a famous French advertising agency. It was started in Paris in 1995. The name BETC comes from the first letters of its founders: Babinet, Erra, and Tong Cuong.

How BETC Started and Grew

The Beginning of BETC

The agency began in 1994. It was first called Babinet Tong Cuong. The founders were Rémi Babinet and Eric Tong Cuong. In 1995, Mercedes Erra joined them. The agency then changed its name to Babinet Erra Tong Cuong Euro RSCG.

BETC is part of a larger group called Havas Worldwide. Eric Tong Cuong left the company in 2002. Later, in 2005, Rémi Babinet and Mercedes Erra took on more leadership roles at Havas. Stéphane Xiberras, who joined BETC in 1999, became a top creative leader in 2007.

Where BETC Works

About 900 people work at BETC. Most of them are at the main office in Paris, France. Their headquarters is a cool industrial building. It used to be a big department store called "Aux Classes Laborieuses."

BETC works with over 70 different clients. Many of these clients are global companies. Some well-known brands they've worked with include Peugeot, Air France, Evian, Lacoste, and Disneyland Paris. In 2012, BETC also started working with the luxury brand Louis Vuitton.

Different Parts of BETC

BETC has many special teams. Each team focuses on a different type of advertising. For example, BETC Luxe works with luxury brands. BETC Digital handles online campaigns. There's also BETC Pop for sound and music. BETC Design focuses on brand identity.

Growing Around the World

In 2011, BETC started to become a global company. They opened an office in London, England. This office works with clients like Bacardi and Samsung. Later, in 2014, they opened BETC São Paulo in Brazil. BETC also plans to open more offices in the United States.

In 2016, BETC moved its main office. They moved to a new building called Les Magasins généraux in Pantin. This building is a hub for creativity and new ideas. Rémi Babinet and BETC are helping to improve the city of Pantin. They are involved in many cultural and social projects there.

Rémi Babinet was recognized in 2016. Forbes Magazine named him one of the world's 10 Best Creative Directors.

Famous Advertising Campaigns

BETC has created many memorable ads. Two of their most famous are "The Bear" for Canal+ and "Baby and me" for Evian. "The Bear" was named the most awarded TV ad ever. "Baby and me" was the most watched online campaign in the world.

Air France Ads

BETC started working with Air France in 1998. One famous ad was "Flight" from 1999. It was directed by Michel Gondry. The music was by the Chemical Brothers. In 2011, they made another beautiful ad. It featured dancers and classical music. Rémi Babinet was the creative director for all Air France campaigns.

Canal+ Ads

In 2011, BETC made "The Bear" for Canal+. This ad is very funny. It shows a bearskin rug that becomes a famous movie director. Stéphane Xiberras was the creative director. This ad won many big awards in 2012. In 2013, "The Bear" was ranked as the most awarded TV ad in history.

Evian Ads

Rémi Babinet also led the creative work for Evian water. In 1998, they made the "Waterbabies" TV campaign. In 2009, "Rollerbabies" became a huge hit online. It was even in the Guinness Book of Records for being the most viewed online ad at the time. In 2013, BETC launched "Baby and me" for Evian. This campaign featured babies dancing to a fun remix of "Here Comes the Hotstepper."
