Bachs is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Zürich. Bachs is part of the Dielsdorf district.

A Look at Bachs' History
Bachs has a long history. It was first mentioned way back in the year 1100. At that time, it was known by names like Fusebach and Fuisipach. Later, in 1384, a part of the village was called Obern Fisibach. This part is now known as Altbachs, or Old Bachs.
Exploring Bachs' Geography
Bachs covers an area of about 9.1 square kilometers (about 3.5 square miles). A large part of this land, almost half (49%), is used for farming. Another big part (44.1%) is covered by forests.
About 6.8% of the land has buildings or roads. The rest is made up of things like rivers or mountains. The town is located where the Fisibach stream flows. Bachs has two main parts. After a big fire in 1763, these parts became known as Altbachs (Old Bachs) and Neubachs (New Bachs).

Bachs has a population of 613 people. A small part of the population, about 6%, are people from other countries. Most people in Bachs (95.8%) speak German. A few people speak French (1.0%) or Spanish (0.9%).
