A Look at Bahomamey's Past
Puerto Rico became part of the United States after the Spanish–American War. This happened because of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. In 1899, the U.S. government counted the people living in Puerto Rico. They found that Bahomamey barrio and another barrio called Guatemala had a combined population of 1,126 people.
