Baie-Saint-Paul is a city in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is located on the northern shore of the Saint Lawrence River. This city is the main town of the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality.
Baie-Saint-Paul sits where the Gouffre River meets the Saint Lawrence. It is famous for its many art galleries, unique shops, and delicious restaurants.
In the 1770s, a doctor named Philippe-Louis-François Badelard studied a sickness he called the "Baie-Saint-Paul maladie." This was one of the first medical reports published in Lower Canada. Also, the world-famous Cirque du Soleil started here in the early 1980s. Their first show under the name Cirque du Soleil happened during "La Fete Foraine de Baie-Saint-Paul" in 1984.
