Early Life and Family
Bailey May was born in Cebu City, Philippines. His mother, Vanessa May, is from Cebu, and his father, Matthew May, is British. Because of his parents' nationalities, Bailey has dual citizenship, meaning he is a citizen of both the Philippines and the United Kingdom. He has a younger sister named Maya.
When Bailey was four years old, his family moved to Norwich, England. He grew up there and went to Notre Dame High School. Even though he lived in England, his family often visited the Philippines for holidays. At age twelve, Bailey moved back to the Philippines for good. Soon after, he auditioned online for the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: 737 and was chosen to be a housemate.
Showbiz Career
Becoming a TV Star
Bailey's journey in the spotlight began in 2015 on Pinoy Big Brother: 737. His friendly personality made him popular with viewers, and he finished in fourth place.
After the show, he quickly moved into acting. He landed a role in the popular TV series On the Wings of Love. In the show, he played Harry Fausto, the cousin of the main character, Clark, who was played by James Reid. His character also had a love interest played by Ylona Garcia, who was also his fellow housemate from Pinoy Big Brother.
Music Journey
Bailey's passion for music has been a big part of his career. He has released his own music and was also a member of a global pop group.
Starting His Music Career
In 2015, Bailey started his music career while still in the spotlight from Pinoy Big Brother. He and fellow housemate Ylona Garcia recorded a duet called "Magmahal Muli" (which means To Love Again). He also recorded a solo cover of the song "Now We're Together." Both songs were released on Spotify in August 2015. Later that year, in November, he released his first EP, a short album titled Bailey May.
Joining Now United
In 2017, Bailey took a huge step in his career by joining Now United, a pop group with members from different countries all over the world. Bailey was chosen to represent the Philippines. As part of Now United, he traveled the globe, performing in countries like Mexico, Brazil, South Korea, and the United States.
He was a key singer in many of their songs. For example, he was the lead singer in the 2019 song "Afraid Of Letting Go," and its music video was filmed in Manila. He also sang parts of the song "Sundin Ang Puso" in the Tagalog language. In early 2023, Bailey announced he was leaving Now United to work on his own music as a solo artist. His last song with the group was "Odo."
Going Solo
After leaving Now United, Bailey began his solo career. In August 2023, he was featured on the song "Reason Why" by American choreographer Matt Stefanina. In October 2024, Bailey released his own single, "Come Closer."
