The Bank of Italy building in Tracy, California, is a really old and important building. It was finished in 1919. People also know it by other names, like the Old Bank of America Building or the American Bank of Tracy. It was added to a special list of historic places in 1985.

A Look Back in Time

This building has two floors and is made of brick. It has cool arched windows on the second floor. It was built in 1919. Back then, it cost about $35,000 to build, which was a lot of money! It's still standing strong today.

When it first opened, it was called the American Bank of Tracy. Two people, Philip Fabian and Abe Grunauer, started it. A few years later, in 1921, a famous banker named A. P. Giannini bought the building. It then became a branch of his big bank, the Bank of Italy. Later, the Bank of Italy changed its name to Bank of America. So, this building has been home to a few different banks over the years!
