Another important spirit linked to Baralku is Barnumbirr. Barnumbirr is a creator-spirit often seen as the planet Venus, also known as the Morning Star. In Yolngu stories, Barnumbirr lives on Baralku. Each morning, she rises into the sky as Venus. She is said to have guided the Djanggawul sisters on their journey from Baralku, showing them the way.
