Barbara Carrera (born Barbara Kingsbury) is an American actress, model, and painter. She is well-known for her exciting roles in movies and TV shows. One of her most famous parts was playing Fatima Blush, a villain in the James Bond movie Never Say Never Again (1983). For this role, she was even nominated for a Golden Globe Award! Barbara Carrera also starred in the popular TV miniseries Centennial (1978–79) and the TV show Dallas (1985–86).

Early Life and Beginnings
Barbara Kingsbury was born in Bluefields, Nicaragua. Her mother, Florencia Carrera, was from Nicaragua, and her father, Louis Kingsbury, was an American who worked for the American embassy.
When she was a child, Barbara moved to the United States to live with her father. At age 15, she moved to New York.
Career Highlights
Barbara started her career as a model at the Eileen Ford agency when she was 17. This is when she decided to use her mother's last name, Carrera, as her professional name. She appeared on the covers and pages of many famous magazines like Vogue, Paris Match, and Harper's Bazaar.
Her first movie role was in Puzzle of a Downfall Child (1970). Later, she gained more attention for her roles in films like The Island of Dr. Moreau, Condorman, and Lone Wolf McQuade.
Her role as Fatima Blush in the James Bond film Never Say Never Again was a big success. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for "Best Supporting Actress" for this performance. The next year, she worked alongside the famous actor Laurence Olivier in the movie Wild Geese II.
On television, Barbara Carrera played important roles that made her well-known to American audiences. She was in the historical miniseries Centennial in 1978 and Masada (with Peter O'Toole) in 1981. She also played Angelica Nero in the popular soap opera Dallas. In 1988, she starred as Emma Forsayth in the miniseries Emma: Queen of the South Seas.
In 1989, Barbara Carrera starred with the legendary actress Bette Davis in Wicked Stepmother. During the filming, Bette Davis became ill. The movie's story was changed so that Barbara Carrera took on more of Bette Davis's character's lines.
Beyond acting, Barbara Carrera is also a talented painter. Her artwork has been shown in galleries in Beverly Hills, California and London, England. Her paintings have been quite popular, sometimes selling for thousands of dollars. In 1997, she was even named Ambassador-at-Large for Nicaragua by the president at the time.
