About Barbara
Barbara Popović was born in Skopje, North Macedonia. She started her music journey at a very young age.
When she was only six years old, Barbara began studying piano. She also started performing at a children's music festival called Super Zvezda ("Super Star"). She took part in this festival every year until she was ten.
During these years, she worked with many famous Macedonian artists. They helped her create songs. One of her most popular songs was "Bongiorno," written by the singer Kaliopi.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013

In 2013, Barbara was chosen to represent North Macedonia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This is a big music competition for young singers from different countries. The TV station in North Macedonia picked her through a special audition.
The song she sang was called "Ohrid i Muzika" ("Ohrid and Music"). Barbara helped write the song herself. It was inspired by a trip she took to the beautiful town of Ohrid. The song was about a young crush and how music can connect people.
On stage, Barbara performed with dancers from the Eureka dance studio. One of the dancers was Sara Kastratović, who loved hip hop dancing.
Even though people had good hopes for Barbara's performance, North Macedonia finished in last place. They received 19 points. After this, the TV station thought about not joining the contest again.
The artistic director, Ljupcho Mirkovski, said that Barbara was very talented. He thought that stage fright might have affected her performance. He explained that choosing a singer internally (without a public vote) was the only option they had that year.
Later Music
Barbara continued making music after Junior Eurovision.
In 2018, she returned to the stage at the Makfest festival. She introduced a new song called "Ne si ti kriv" ("It’s Not Your Fault").
In 2020, she released a new song titled "Mirisash." It also came with a music video.
IDJ Show and Recent Events
In 2023, Barbara was a contestant on a Balkan TV music show called IDJ Show. She did very well and reached the final, finishing in second place.
She also sang the Italian national anthem before a football match between North Macedonia and Italy.
