Besides her children's books, Barbara Robinson also wrote many short stories. These stories appeared in popular magazines like McCall's, Redbook, and Ladies Home Journal. She also wrote some books of poetry.

Barbara Robinson lived in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. This town is close to Philadelphia. She passed away at her home in Berwyn on July 9, 2013. She was 85 years old. Barbara had two daughters, Carolyn and Marjorie, with her husband John F. Robinson. She also had three grandchildren named Tomas, Marcos, and Lucas.
