History of Bargh Shiraz
How the Club Started
In 1946, some young people decided to start a football club. At first, the team often had money troubles. For a short time, the city helped them out. Later, the Shiraz Electrical Company became their main supporter.
Bargh Shiraz is one of the oldest football clubs in Asia. It is also known as one of the oldest Iranian clubs still active.
Facing Challenges in Games
The club has faced some tough situations during matches. For example, in 2001, Bargh Shiraz was supposed to move down a league. But the Iranian Football Federation kept them in the top league. This was because 22 points were taken from them unfairly.
In 2004, in a game against Sepahan Isfahan, there were many offside calls that were not given. This made it hard for Bargh Shiraz to play fairly.
In 2010, Bargh Shiraz almost moved up to the Iran Pro League. They needed to score more goals than another team, Damash Gilan. Their games were supposed to start at the same time. But Damash's game started 15 minutes late. Knowing Bargh had won their game, Damash scored in the last minute. This allowed Damash to move up instead.
Club Successes
Bargh Shiraz has had some good moments, but they have also faced challenges. They have played in lower leagues at times. Their biggest win was the Hazfi Cup in 1997. They also finished second in the Hazfi Cup in 1996.
In recent years, they have often been in the middle of the league table. Sometimes they have worked hard to avoid moving down to a lower league. The 2007–08 season was their best. They finished 7th in the top league. But they moved down a league the next year after changing coaches three times.
Difficult Years for the Club
The 2011–12 season was very hard for Bargh. There were big disagreements about who should be in charge of the club. The original owners decided not to support the club anymore. Two business people then tried to help the team. This led to a very tough time for the club. The football team moved down to the second division.
In 2012, the new owner made a deal with another club. This allowed Bargh Shiraz to play in a higher league again. In the same year, the club's futsal team, Bargh Shiraz FSC, had a great success. They won the second division cup and moved up to the first division.
Rivalries in Football
