Barker Creek starts its journey in the southern part of Pettis County, not far from the town of Windsor. From there, it flows generally towards the south and southwest.
The Creek's Path
As it travels, Barker Creek passes through the northwest corner of Benton County. Then, it moves into Henry County, flowing east of the town of Calhoun. The creek continues its path west of Roseland.
Where Barker Creek Ends
Finally, Barker Creek reaches its "confluence" (where two streams meet) with Tebo Creek. This meeting point is within the waters of Truman Reservoir and the Tebo State Wildlife Area. The starting point of the creek is at 38°31′38″N 93°28′08″W / 38.52722°N 93.46889°W, and where it joins Tebo Creek is at 38°22′26″N 93°35′13″W / 38.37389°N 93.58694°W.
How Did Barker Creek Get Its Name?
The name "Barker Creek" comes from an early settler in the area. The creek was named after a pioneer citizen known as Dick Barker.
