Barksdale is a small community in Wisconsin, United States. It's not a city or a village with its own government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called the Town of Barksdale in Bayfield County. You can find Barksdale along Wisconsin Highway 13, about 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of a town called Washburn.
A Look Back: Barksdale's History
Barksdale got its name in 1904. It was named after H. M. Barksdale. He was the president of a company that made powder nearby.
Also in 1904, a post office opened in Barksdale. A post office is where you send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years. It closed down in 1966.
