Barna Woods facts for kids
Barna Woods (which is Coill Bhearna in Irish) is a beautiful forest area in Barna, County Galway, Ireland. It has many different kinds of trees, like oak and beech. The woods are about 3 miles (5 kilometers) from Galway city centre, right next to Galway Bay.
You can easily visit Barna Woods! There are two main ways to get there. You can enter from Cappagh Park, which is in a place called Knocknacara. Or, you can come from Barna Road (also known as the Coastal Road, or R336), where there is a small car park.
There's even more to Barna Woods than just the main part. Across the road, you'll find an area called the South Wood. This part leads to marshy lands that eventually reach Silver Strand (Trá na gCeann in Irish), a lovely beach on Galway Bay.
