Barra de Valizas, often called just Valizas, is a cool beach resort in the Rocha Department of southeastern Uruguay. It's a popular spot for people who love nature and a relaxed vibe. This charming village is known for its beautiful beaches and amazing sand dunes.
Exploring Valizas: Location and Landscape
Valizas is right on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It's about 4 kilometers east of Route 10. One of the most exciting features near Valizas is the huge stretch of sand dunes. These giant dunes separate Valizas from another famous place called Cabo Polonio, which is about 8 kilometers north. Walking or riding across these dunes is a unique adventure!
Who Lives in Valizas?
Valizas is a small community. In 2011, about 330 people lived there all the time. But during the holiday seasons, many more people come to visit!
