Barry Douglas's Football Journey

Starting at Queen's Park

Barry Douglas was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He grew up in the Pollok area of the city. He played for Livingston's youth teams until he was 16. However, he was released because he was thought to be "too small."

After a year away from football, he joined Queen's Park in 2008. This was an amateur club, meaning players didn't get paid much. Barry played part-time while also training to be a refrigeration engineer. He made his first senior appearance in August 2008. He quickly became a regular player for Queen's Park. Even though the club was relegated, Barry kept playing well. He even scored nine goals from his left-back position in the 2009–10 season. He was the top scorer for Queen's Park that year.

Moving to Dundee United

On 20 June 2010, Barry became a professional footballer. He signed with Scottish Premier League club Dundee United. He made his debut for them in August 2010.
